2004, inland waterways refers to navigable inland waterways. The same applies

Since 2009, statistical coverage above designated size refers to coastal
seaport with capacity over 10 million tons yearly and inland port over |

Since 2011, Civil aviation routes change to regular civil aviation routes.

In 2013, the pipelines transport statistics had an additional inclusion of
CNOOC to the 2012 inclusion of CNPC and SINOPEC. The 2012 data on |

transport are adjusted for data comparability. The same applies in the

The 2013 figures on passenger traffic and freight traffic are calculated with
the data from the 2013 survey of transport economics, and have different |
| coverages.
The same applies to the following tables. When adjusted to comparable
coverages, the 2013 highway passenger traffic, passenger- |
|
| kilometers,
freight traffic and freight ton-kilometers increased over the previous year
by 4.2%, 1.0%， 10.9% and 11.2% respectively; and the 2013 |
|
| waterway
passenger traffic, passenger-kilometers, freight traffic and freight
ton-kilometers by 3.0%， 2.9%, 10.4% and 4.8% respectively. |
