| Note:
a) Statistics on illiterate and Semi-illiterate people in 1964 were about the
population at 12 and over, that in 1982, 1990,2000,and 2010, about |
| the
illiterate and semi-illiterate population at 15 and over. Illiterate rate
means the share of illiterate people of the population at 15 and over. |

This table has the same indicators but different figures from Table 3-2,
because this table uses the census time point, and Table 3-2 uses the |
|
| year
end as the time point. Census time point in 1953 was 12 o'clock midnight,
