| a) The statistical coverage of
thestate-owned and the urban collective owned
construction enterprises in 1996 included the fourth |
|
| and higher grade construction enterprises．The statistical coverage of the rural collective
owned construction teams in 1996 included |
|
| the township and village construction teams lower than the fourth grade．Therefore the data
were not entirely comparable with |
|
| the data of the previous years． |

| b)The number of persons
engaged prior to 1993 refers to the yearend
number．Since 1993，it refers to the annual avaerage number． |
