Figures are compiled based on data collected in the General Household Survey
from January to December of the year concerned as well as |

| the mid-year population
estimates by District Council district compiled jointly by the Census and
Statistics Department and an inter- |

| departmental Working Group
on Population Distribution Projections. |
|
|
| Statistics involve the use
of the population figures in the compilation process. Annual figures of 2007-2010 have been
revised to take into |
|
|
| account the results of the
2011 Population Census which provided a benchmark for revising the population
figures compiled since the 2006 |
|
|
| Population By-census. |
|
|
| Starting from 2009,
figures are compiled based on the Hong Kong Standard Industrial
Classification Version 2.0 and the series has been |
|
|
| backcasted to 2008. |
|
|
| ①Accommodation services cover hotels, guesthouses, boarding
houses and other establishments providing short term accommodation. |
